New Noticeboard Keeps Balderton Community Connected

Jul 8, 2026

Balderton residents have a new place to find local news and construction updates following the donation of a community noticeboard by Arkwood Living to Balderton Parish Council.

The noticeboard has been installed on Mead Way and provides space for the parish council to share local information and announcements. Principal housebuilder Lovell will also post regular updates on the construction of The Maples, Arkwood Living’s forthcoming development in Balderton.

Representatives from Arkwood Living and Balderton Parish Council came together on 7th July to mark the installation of the new noticeboard, which has now been donated to the council for use by the wider community.

The Maples will bring 142 high-quality two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes to the area, alongside significant investment in local infrastructure and community services.

Andrew Dewberry, Managing Director at Arkwood Living, said, “We’re pleased to have donated this noticeboard to Balderton Parish Council, providing a useful and lasting resource for the local community. As work progresses at The Maples, it will also provide a clear and accessible way to keep residents informed about construction activity and important developments on site. We’re looking forward to bringing a thoughtfully designed collection of new homes to Balderton and making a positive contribution to the area.”

Jane Buxton, Leader of Balderton Parish Council, said, “We’re grateful to Arkwood Living for donating the new noticeboard, which will provide another valuable way for us to share information with residents. It will also help local people stay informed as construction progresses at The Maples, and we hope it will become a well-used community resource.”

As part of The Maples, Arkwood Living will contribute more than £660,000 towards primary education, helping to support local school provision as the area continues to grow. Further funding will be provided towards local GP services, improvements to nearby play areas, traffic management and sustainable travel.

The development has been carefully designed to create a well-balanced residential environment, with new homes set alongside landscaped green spaces, wetlands and biodiversity enhancements. Long-term management arrangements will also be put in place to protect and maintain these areas for future residents and the wider community.

Situated just outside Newark, Balderton combines the character of an established village with convenient access to schools, everyday amenities and strong road links via the A1 and A46. Nearby Newark offers a wide range of shops, cafés, restaurants, heritage attractions and riverside walks.

Further details about the homes, launch timings and how to register interest will be announced in due course. For more information, contact us today.
