Global Recycling Day 2023

Mar 18, 2023

We’re showcasing some useful everyday recycling tips you can use in your new home this Global Recycling Day.

Follow these simple recycling tips to help make a big difference at home:

  • Waste not, want not! Remember to flatten all cardboard boxes so that you can use extra space and fit more recyclables into your bin.
  • Did you know most household metals can be recycled? You heard it right, items like aerosols and kitchen foil can be recycled as well as your tins and cans!
  • Be sure to recycle all paper and cardboard. It’s not just newspapers that you can be recycled; envelopes, wrapping paper and cards can all be recycled too! Even all types of cardboard can be recycled so don’t forget the toilet roll tubes, cereal boxes and drinks cartons.
  • When in doubt, don’t throw it out! If you’re unsure on what you can recycle, check your local council for more information and advice. Nottingham County Council has a recycling checker on their website to ensure that the right items can be recycled.

Global Recycling Day is organised by Global Recycling Foundation which helps to recognise the vital role recycling plays in preserving our precious resources and the importance of securing the future of the planet.
