Coping Safely with COVID-19

If you are currently looking to buy a new Arkwood Living home or when you are already settled in, here’s how we’re keeping you safe and things moving.

Looking for a new Arkwood Living home?

Current Government guidance allows you to make a visit to our show homes, but by appointment only. With your safety being our priority, we have put extra measures in place to ensure we minimise any risks when you are looking to buy one of our new homes.

Buying an Arkwood Living home?

The housing market is still very much operational and we have worked hard to ensure that our construction, sales and conveyancing teams are able to operate effectively and very safely, making sure your move date isn’t affected.

Living in an Arkwood Living home?

When you move into one of our new homes, we have worked hard to ensure that we can continue to safely look after you. Our customer team, site management team and subcontractors are still operating during this time, subject to agreed safe methods of working. If you need any support then please use our normal methods for getting in touch with us and we will work with you to resolve any issues. Should a visit be required to your home, then you can be assured that your safety is our primary concern and we have developed robust COVID safety precaution measures for our teams to follow.

You must advise us if anyone in your household is currently isolating and/or been designated as clinically extremely vulnerable. In these circumstances, we will discuss the best approach to resolving your issue, however, please be aware that in these circumstances we may not be able to make a physical visit and will endeavour to remotely resolve your issue.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The situation relating to Covid-19 is continually changing and your Safety is our priority. We will continue to monitor Government advice and update our processes accordingly. If you would like to know more about our current safety measures please see below.

Our Safety Measures

Making a visit to our Show Homes

During the Covid-19 pandemic, our main priority is to maintain the safety and well-being of our customers and employees.

Arkwood Living has put measures in place to ensure that our operations on site protect both our customers and employees by maintaining an environment where you can feel safe and comfortable in visiting our homes.

Our response has been comprehensive to ensure that our show homes remain a safe place to visit and include the following for your protection and security:

  • Visits to our show homes are by appointment only
  • Appointment times are managed to avoid the risk of overlapping with others
  • A limit of two customers are permitted in our show homes at any one time
  • Clear signage is posted on our developments advising of our approach for appointments and social distancing/safety measures that are in place
  • Glove dispensers and hand sanitisers are available for customer use
  • Protective screens are installed to the sales adviser’s desk
  • Safe distancing is marked up from the sales adviser's chair
  • Customers are required to wear a face covering when inside a show home
  • Sanitising takes place after each visitor has left
  • For your safety and to reduce the risk of infection spreading, we have currently suspended the distribution of paper brochures and information pamphlets etc. Instead our sales adviser will happily send you an electronic version to an email address of your choice

Safety on our Developments

Covid-19 has presented a number of challenges towards the safe continuation of our construction activities. Following Government guidance, we have successfully implemented a range of measures to help ensure we continue building safely, as follows;

Operating Safely

In line with Government guidance, we require that everyone maintains a safe distance apart at all times, If this is not possible, for any reason, then any closer contact must be kept to an absolute minimum timescale and protective equipment (RPE/PPE) should be used as appropriate.

The Working Environment

Our sites include wider walkways and passing points, the promotion of social distancing through floor and wall mounted signage in offices and communal areas and additional hand washing facilities.

Working Together: Our contractors and sub-contractors must provide risk assessments for managing social distancing and infection control, which must accord with the requirements for the overall site and be approved by the construction management team before any work starts.

A Robust Response

The site team will react quickly should someone fall ill through suspected Covid-19. Anyone likely to have been in contact with the individual will be alerted and any affected areas will be immediately isolated. A specialist deep clean will be undertaken to any areas where we suspect there is a risk of further transmission before allowing the isolation to be lifted.
